YIMILYA IZEL (Yeh-mil-yah  I-zell)

FASHION MODEL, VISUAL ARTIST, ASPIRING PERFORMING ARTIST

COMMUNITY ADVOCATE

It's AMAZING what a little bit of encouragement, bravery, faith & optimism can do for you. Often teased and misled as a child, Yimilya was many times unsure of her career path, and would have never guessed where it would lead to. She grew up with a passion for the arts,  meanwhile was encouraged by friends and family to pursue modeling as a teen.

Soon, she found herself randomly strutting through hallways; as if she was walking on the runway. She then began taking modeling courses. In her 1st year of college, she decided to challenge herself. It was then, right after her first photo-shoot, she realized that she was passionate about the profession and knew she had a lot to catch up on.

True to her nature, Yimilya turned this new found passion into action. During her first year as a freelance model she walked in over 20 fashion shows. Of these shows, some of the most notable were African Fashion Week NY, Fashion Night Out, Fall collections in New York’s Fashion Week, and collaboration shows for Rocawear and celebrity designer Richie Rich.

With her love for helping others, she was able to share her experiences with the youth at the Boys and Girls Club. She explains that it “warmed her heart” to coach young aspiring models the standards of the industry and how to walk the runway.

Unwilling to rest on her accomplishments or become complacent Yimilya earned the moniker “Lady Progress” by her closest friends and peers. This acknowledgement would spark another passion within Yimilya…a Promotional Spokes-Model/ Brand Ambassador. This along with her pre-learned marketing skills, initiated leadership skills by representing several brands that fund purposeful causes and charities.

With her fun loving personality, she has used her interpersonal and hospitality skills to Bartend and Cater at several Events, Private Parties and Lounges. She has represented companies such as Bloomingdales, Awareness Works (South African Charity/ Hemma Fashion Line) and was also given the opportunity to participate in the Candie’s Foundation sharing a stage placed in the middle of Times Square, NYC alongside celebrity recording artist Ciara.

Yimilya is now featured on websites for photographers, designers and several runway shows and is currently with “FG” Agency. She has modeled for fashion illustration students at F.I.T. & Parson's College. She is working hard towards her dream of connecting with Top Photographers, and walking for Celebrity Designers in Fashion Weeks Worldwide. Her Main Goal is to add more Campaigns & Spreadsheets to her Portfolio, and anticipates Magazine Covers and Billboard features in the future.

As time progresses, she is not only looking to build a brand as a High Fashion Model. Yimilya is also eager to document her Journey as she explores her talents and develops her skills through Visual arts, Performing Arts, International Business and Philanthrophy as well. She is taking the necessary actions by committing working in several outreach/ activist programs; emerging as a new Community Advocate. Hence her initiative to start an Philanthropic Art Collective named @CCC.Art.Collective
